Boy Scouts of America Troop 62 is sponsored by the First United Methodist Church, Tifton, GA. The troop has been serving youth in the Titfton area for more than 43 years with 115 youth members having earned their Eagle Scout Award. Leadership is provided a Scoutmaster and 8 Assistant Scoutmasters. Troop 62 owns several canoes, tents, dining flies, cook boxes and other necessary equipment for an enjoyable and exciting outdoor program. The members participate in a year long outdoor including camping trips, hikes and canoe trips and a week of summer camp. Meetings are held every Monday at the First United Methodist Church Scout House located at the corner of 12th Street and North Park Avenue from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Those young men are also active in a sports program are welcome to participate and it is understood that some meetings and other activities may be missed.
